The amendment to the medical training regulations on further treatment by child and adolescent psychiatrists beyond the age of majority: A qualitative analysis of attitudes and clinical reality
Recent Publication
A new study from the Research Centre Transitional Psychiatry shows that many child and adolescent psychiatrists in Austria are generally positive about the possibility of continuing to treat their patients after they reach the age of majority. This legal innovation came into force unexpectedly, which some experts criticised, as there was hardly any preparation time. Despite the approval of the new regulation, many psychiatrists report practical hurdles: Resource bottlenecks and the high pressure on hospital beds prevent this reform from actually being reflected in day-to-day care.
