The EU is developing a comprehensive regulatory framework for artificial intelligence (AI) to promote innovation while minimizing ethical and security risks. The AI Act, the central legislative proposal, pursues a risk-based approach in which particularly sensitive applications, such as AI in healthcare or law enforcement, are subject to strict requirements. At the same time, clear rules and transparency obligations are intended to strengthen trust in AI technologies and ensure fair competition. Companies must adapt their systems according to the classification in order to meet the requirements.
