2. Ethics Day in the Thermenregion
At the end of March 2025, LGA Gesundheit Thermenregion dedicated a day to ethics in healthcare.
Following last year's successful kick-off, this year's event once again dedicated an entire day to the topic of ethics in healthcare: The 2nd regional Ethics Day of Gesundheit Thermenregion took place in cooperation with KL Krems on 27 March 2025 at Wiener Neustadt University Hospital. Ethical behaviour in healthcare is essential - not just for doctors, but for everyone involved in the treatment process.
Deputy Managing Director Armin Zwazl, MBA, opened the event with introductory words and emphasised: "Ethical issues must not only be dealt with theoretically, but must also be anchored concretely and practically in the everyday life of the healthcare professions."
Mr Lutschinger explained KL-Academy's current range of continuing education courses and highlighted the certificate courses on ethics - "Applied Ethics and Ethics Counselling for Healthcare Professions" and "Ethical Corporate Management in Healthcare".
Three specialist lectures by renowned experts formed the focal point of the programme:
- Priv.-Doz. Dr Jürgen Wallner, MBA, HEC-C - Barmherzigen Brüdern Österreich spoke about "The dementia-sensitive healthcare organisation - organisational ethical cornerstones and experiences".
- OÄ Dr Patricia Steiner, PM.ME - KL addressed the topic of "Applied medical ethics and ethics counselling".
- Dr Asita Aschraf-Yazdi introduced the ethics team at Hochegg University Hospital and gave practical insights into their regional work.
Dr Dieter Windischbaur moderated the intensive discussion rounds. In addition to the high-calibre specialist presentations, the event offered a variety of opportunities for discussion, exchange and regional networking.
More than 50 visitors from the entire Thermenregion and beyond took the opportunity not only to learn more about the subject, but also to join in the discussions.
