Lower Austria's Teddy Bear Hospital reopens its doors to cuddly patients.

On 13 March 2026, it will be that time again: the Teddy Bear Hospital Lower Austria will take place at Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences in Krems. The Teddy Bear Hospital is a hospital simulation for children between the ages of 3 and 8 and is organised in Lower Austria by students at Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences.  The “TeddyDocs” volunteer alongside their Medical degree programme with the aim of helping children overcome their fear of hospitals, doctors and the medical environment in a playful way. 
The Teddy Bear Hospital Lower Austria was first held in early 2020 and has enjoyed great popularity ever since. At the Teddy Bear Hospital, the patients are cuddly toys and the children are their companions, while medical students from Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences are the attending doctors. The morning is reserved for kindergarten groups and school classes, while in the afternoon private individuals have the opportunity to get to know the Teddy Bear Hospital better.
