Community

As a university, KL University sees itself not only as an educational and research institution, but also as an active part of society. In line with its so-called “third mission”—the third task alongside teaching and research—the university is involved in numerous projects that extend beyond the campus and contribute to public life.

Whether it's health promotion, science communication, socio-political education, or direct support in the region – under the umbrella of “community,” we bring together initiatives that serve the common good and promote dialogue between science and society. Our students, teachers, and staff contribute their knowledge, time, and commitment to create sustainable momentum for a healthier, more informed, and more united society.

An important part of this commitment are student initiatives, which develop their own projects with creativity and social awareness – from health campaigns and peer support to voluntary work in the region. They impressively demonstrate how strongly community is lived at KL University.

Life on the Krems campus also promotes cohesion: a diverse range of restaurants, the cinema in the Kesselhaus, cultural offerings, and the nearby Kolpinghaus create space for exchange, leisure, and togetherness. The international student community of three universities further enriches campus life with diversity and new perspectives.
