Students and Staff from Partner Universities
KL will receive exchange students or staff from universities which have a valid formal exchange agreement with KL. If you wish to spend time studying at KL or gain professional experience under a staff exchange programme with us, please enquire with your home university first.

Language Proficiency Requirements
- Both German and English spoken by students, teachers and staff
- Bachelor's Programme Medical Science entirely held in English
- Master's Programme Human Medicine (MD) held in German
- For a clinical traineeship, command of German at minimum level B2 (CEFR) is mandatory
- Psychology Bachelor's and Master's Programmes are held in German
- Erasmus+ Online Language Support (OLS): assess and improve your German skills
- Find a German course on the Austrian Language Portal sprachportal.at

Administrative Requirements
Local authority registration
- You will need to register with the local authority within three days of moving to your chosen accommodation. You will need to submit passport, birth certificate and a completed registration form (Meldezettel) at the appropriate Registration Office in Krems (or Vienna, should you decide to stay there).
Insurance
- EU/EEA Students who in their home countries are registered at a regular health insurance require the European Health Insurance Card.
- Foreign students who enjoy residence status in Austria can take out a health insurance with the official Austrian Public Health Insurance (specific conditions for student cover apply).
- Accident and general liability insurance for students is provided by the Austrian Students Guild (ÖH) for a moderate semester fee.

Students and staff spending time at KL may apply for financial support via Erasmus+ at their home institution's international mobility services. Please contact your local international office for details regarding mobility support via Erasmus+.
