Neurorehabilitation Sciences master programme
The Neurorehabilitation Sciences programme is the first course of study in Austria designed to help professionals such as physiotherapists, occupational and speech therapists develop their research capabilities. Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences is the ideal setting for research-led teaching in clinical fields. Programme graduates have all the skills expected of fully trained researchers and research assistants, as well as the expertise and abilities required for research into neurological disorders and the therapeutic approaches used in neurorehabilitation.
This part-time programme comprises block courses (modules) and blended learning units. In addition to detailed online sessions and supervised e-learning units, blended learning involves extensive autonomous learning and self study during semesters 1-5.
After the first year of the programme, students are required to complete a two-week internship at a recognised health service organisation with a clearly defined research agenda.
Students conclude the Neurorehabilitation Sciences programme by writing and giving an oral defence of a master thesis.
